Poem

Ken Wagstaff

Ken Wagstaff was energetic, gritty and tenacious
As a good Southern boy, he was also very gracious
We’ve heard, for some, tennis is just a game
For Ken, LIFE and TENNIS were one and the same
His tennis said it all
He hung in there like a massive back wall
A match against him may not have been fun
For he slowly left his opponents spent and undone
But just like the mustard he could put on the ball
He surprised us with the kindness and generosity he showed to all
Our Waggy waddled in white, like a duck
And that he was in our lives, was more than simple luck
Waggy was huge, except for his height
We will miss him; he was a bouncing bright light.
