Tennis Tapes - You can see on this color coded chart what skills need to be mastered to earn which color tape. You are not rewarded in life for just participating in life and we don't think kids should be rewarded for just participating. Your child will improve their self esteem by mastering different tennis skills. When they have mastered a skill they earn the color tape listed below on the chart. Our tape rewards are not meant to be competitive, in any way between the campers. We want to give your child a sense of accomplishment. When they have honestly mastered a new skill. Your child can practice most of these tennis skills at home. And practicing will accelerate their progress. You do not have to do anything more than count with most of these tests. You might find like I did that we use different balls for the little kids. If your child uses the foam balls, regular tennis balls will make practicing more difficult. We use a foam ball slightly larger than a tennis ball for the 5 and 6 year olds. A Nerf ball would be a good substitute. For the 7 and 8 years olds we use bouncy tennis ball that is available for purchase in our pro shop. If you or your child ever have any questions or difficulties please let a tennis pro or counselor. We want your child's experience you to be excellent.
